This role provides comprehensive clinical care across weekdays, weekends, and nights, supporting the division's ongoing growth and commitment to high quality, team based patient care. The APP will educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and care plans to promote understanding and adherence, serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, and effectively address and help resolve patient and family concerns related to care delivery. When appropriate, the APP will also provide preventive health guidance and support post discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. The APP will demonstrate expert clinical judgment, recognize deviations from expected findings that require timely intervention, and apply current research and evidence based practice standards to clinical care. Responsibilities also include participating in quality improvement initiatives, identifying patient care trends, and collaborating with physician leadership to review programmatic and outcomes data in support of excellence in patient care. The APPs practice within a highly collaborative, academic medical environment which includes coverage of a busy 36 bed intensive care unit supported by resident, fellow, and attending coverage during the day and noctensivist coverage at night. This full time position is part of a growing APP team, with an anticipated total of six providers.
