ABOUT THE POSITION Position Overview: As a Business Continuity Analyst I, you'll play a key role in supporting the credit union's ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptions. This position partners closely with teams across the organization to assess risk, identify potential impacts to operations, and help implement practical, effective continuity and recovery strategies.
In this role, you'll contribute to core program activities such as business impact analyses, risk assessments, and continuity plan development, while supporting testing, training, and continuous improvement efforts. You'll also work with data and reporting to help inform decision-making and strengthen overall program maturity. This is a hands-on, collaborative role within Enterprise Risk Management that blends analysis, coordination, and problem-solving to help ensure the organization remains resilient in the face of unexpected events.
Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week). Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000/year (Exempt) *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills* Location: This is an on-site position in Endwell, NY. What You'll Do:
- Partner with teams across the organization to identify risks, assess business impacts, and strengthen continuity and recovery strategies
- Support and conduct business impact analyses, risk assessments, and continuity planning activities
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and testing business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Analyze data and contribute to reporting, recommendations, and ongoing program improvements
- Help coordinate and support continuity exercises, training, and real-time response efforts during disruptions
- Administer and maintain business continuity and risk management systems, including tracking key metrics and program activity
What success looks like:
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of business continuity concepts and consistently delivers on core responsibilities with accuracy and reliability
- Takes initiative to learn, ask questions, and expand knowledge of risk, resilience, and continuity practices
- Builds effective partnerships across teams, communicating clearly and contributing as a trusted individual contributor
- Shows growth over time by increasing ownership, improving analysis and recommendations, and progressing toward readiness for a Business Continuity Analyst II role
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience in risk management, business continuity, information security, or a related field (or 4-6 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree)
Foundational knowledge of business continuity, risk assessment, or operational resiliency concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs as well as proficiency with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree or additional experience in risk management, business continuity, information security, or a related field
- Prior experience within financial services, banking, credit unions, or a regulated environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Disaster Recovery, or Incident Management) or exposure to GRC tools and frameworks
