About the Opportunity:
The Maintenance Reliability Engineer / Technical Lead is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, supporting complex troubleshooting activities, and strengthening the technical capability of the maintenance team.

Based at our Thomasville, Georgia facility, this position supports a team of approximately 130 employees manufacturing highly engineered airfoils, blisks, and other complex rotating aerospace engine components. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance leadership, you will serve as the site's technical expert for maintenance and reliability initiatives, helping maximize equipment uptime across a highly automated precision machining environment.

This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, mentoring technicians, and driving continuous improvement while remaining actively involved on the shop floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for equipment troubleshooting, maintenance best practices, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts involving CNC machine tools, production equipment, facility systems, and support equipment.
  • Provide hands-on support during critical equipment breakdowns and high-priority maintenance events.
  • Mentor, coach, and train maintenance technicians on troubleshooting techniques, repair methods, equipment operation, and safe work practices.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and develop corrective actions to eliminate repeat downtime.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis activities using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Review equipment performance data and maintenance history to identify trends and reliability improvement opportunities.
  • Support the development and optimization of preventive maintenance procedures, inspection requirements, and maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance documentation within the CMMS, including work orders, failure codes, repair history, and equipment records.
  • Assist with the development of critical spare parts inventories and equipment reliability plans.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system failures.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, ladder logic, hydraulic diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, and OEM documentation.
  • Support equipment installations, rebuilds, machine relocations, commissioning activities, and capital improvement projects.
  • Partner with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and service providers to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Lead small-to-medium reliability and continuous improvement projects focused on increasing equipment uptime and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Promote and support a culture of safety, accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
  • Lead technician, senior technician, or other technical leadership experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Experience supporting CNC machines and advanced manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with CMMS systems, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience mentoring and developing maintenance technicians.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
