*Position Overview* The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for managing customer accounts, processing orders, and ensuring accurate and timely communication across internal teams and customers. This role plays a critical part in driving customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth. *Key Responsibilities* * Manage customer accounts with a focus on increasing satisfaction, sales, and profitability * Process quotes, orders, and provide delivery updates and follow-up support * Handle customer issues, including credits, debits, and return authorizations * Coordinate customer requirements with Operations and Engineering teams * Support outside sales representatives and collaborate across teams * Maintain accurate, detailed documentation in a paperless environment * Enter and manage high-volume orders (50-75 complex orders daily with multiple line items) * Review contracts and verify all details before order processing * Manage shipping and routing logistics, including freight terms (collect, prepaid, third party) * Work within ERP systems (QAD) for quoting, order entry, tracking, and inventory management *Daily Workflow* * Weekly rotation between: * *Email Management:* Handling 200+ customer emails per day * *Phone Support:* Answering ~45 inbound calls daily (via headset), while also processing orders between calls * Balanced workload-employees are not expected to be on phones 100% of the day *Training & Development* * Structured *14-week training program* covering: * Systems (QAD and internal tools) * Product knowledge * Email and phone communication * Custom quoting and order processing * Ongoing, hands-on training using real examples to support learning and growth *Required Qualifications* * 2+ years of manufacturing sales support or customer service experience * Experience with order entry and ERP systems * Strong product knowledge experience in prior roles * Proficiency in Microsoft Office *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience with QAD ERP system *Key Skills* * Strong attention to detail and accuracy * Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment * Solid math skills (fractions and decimals required) * Professional communication skills * Ability to work independently and within a team *Work Environment & Expectations* * Fully onsite in Wheeling, IL * Fast-paced, high-volume environment with a strong emphasis on accuracy * Strict attendance policy: * Must be logged in and ready to work at 8:00 AM daily * Point-based system: tardiness is tracked and enforced * Team structure includes multiple regional groups (West, Midwest, East) with ~25+ team members *Why This Role?* * Gain end-to-end experience in order management and customer support * Work in a collaborative and structured team environment * Opportunity for long-term growth and conversion * Annual pay increases upon permanent hire * Exposure to both domestic and international business operations *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, IL. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
