Work Schedule
The incumbent in this position is required to have a flexible schedule to accommodate events and arena turnovers on nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.

40 hours per week
Primary Purpose of Position
Maintaining and installing all arena flooring systems, retractable seating, concert staging, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the maintenance shop.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Essential Job Duties

  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on arena flooring systems (basketball court, volleyball court, tarps, carpet), arena retractable seating, concert staging, painting, lightbulbs, and basic repairs to tables, chairs, and other arena equipment (basketball goals, volleyball netting).
  • Provide mechanical and maintenance support for events and daily activities, such as setting up the arena. Installing the various arena flooring systems (basketball court, volleyball court, tarps, carpet).
  • Follow the Preventive Maintenance Program and complete Work Requests to ensure that facility components and equipment achieve their maximum life expectancy.
  • Perform mechanical tasks and repairs as needed.
  • Follow proper procedures and techniques in performing duties to eliminate or reduce, to the greatest extent possible, any safety hazards


Other Work Responsibilities

  • Be knowledgeable of the fire panel system and operations.
  • Be able to complete non-routine projects with the assistance/guidance of the maintenance supervisor.
  • Communicating with customers and management about how issues are being resolved.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Experience working in an arena or other indoor sports venues.
  • Experience the maintenance and installation of arena flooring, seating, and staging systems.
  • Experience in a University environment
  • Understands and complies with University Safety, State, and OSHA regulations and reads safety manuals.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications
Positions may be required to possess and maintain required certification, licensure, educational level, and/or experience criteria as applicable to the tasks being performed and follow applicable building codes.
