Join the Surgical Care team at Franklin Hospital and discover the rewarding world of Operating Room nursing. The Operating Room is very different from traditional bedside nursing. Rather than managing multiple patients throughout a shift, OR nurses focus on one patient at a time, serving as a critical advocate throughout the surgical experience. You'll work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists in a highly collaborative environment where communication, precision, and teamwork are essential.Whether you're an experienced nurse or a new graduate interested in exploring a specialty area, this role offers the opportunity to learn a unique set of clinical skills through a supportive orientation and training program. You'll gain expertise in surgical procedures, sterile technique, patient safety, and perioperative care while helping ensure every patient receives exceptional care before, during, and after surgery. SCHEDULE: Shift is 7am-3:30pm.32 hours, 4 days a week, 1 day off a week, 8-hour shifts, call 1-2 nights a week and 1 call weekend every 4-5 weeks. This is a Registered Nurse vacancy open to NEW GRADUATE candidates OR candidates with greater than 1 year of RN work experience. For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 Sign-on bonus for all eligible Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience! Summary: This level is competent in their clinical role and has demonstrated the ability to care for most patients assigned. Though not able to care for every patient type within their area of hire, demonstrates how to obtain the appropriate resources to develop required skills and knowledge over time. This level includes automatic advancement after 1 year as a RN I - must be in good standing and meets RN I requirements. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
