Manufacturing Process Engineer (Temporary)

Location: Sterling Heights, MI (Onsite)

Pay: $42.30/hour

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Process Engineer for a temporary, onsite role supporting axle assembly operations. This position focuses on driving process improvement, lean manufacturing, and production efficiency within a high-volume automotive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support manufacturing process engineering for axle assembly operations
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and productivity
• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes using engineering and problem-solving techniques
• Manage equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning projects
• Conduct process audits and ensure adherence to manufacturing standards
• Identify production constraints and implement corrective actions to improve throughput
• Perform ergonomic assessments and implement safety improvements
• Develop process documentation, instructions, and quality standards
• Lead root cause analysis for defects, inventory issues, and machining concerns
• Ensure compliance with plant, corporate, environmental, and governmental regulations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience
• Strong background in lean manufacturing, process validation, and problem-solving
• Experience with PPAP, FMEA, Six Sigma, or DOE preferred
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
• Experience with automotive components or axle systems is a plus
