General Notes

This position will work with Dr. Ryan Gray in his Lab. More information about Dr. Gray's lab and research can be found at https://www.rsg1lab.com/research.html.

Purpose

Requires skills & knowledge for performing various technical lab duties in the operation and maintenance of an experimental lab and research project. Responsible for performance of technical lab duties under supervising staff and faculty member. Experience with std lab experiments including PCR genotyping. Collects and records data, performs mathematical tasks involved in making media and summarizing results. Prepares reagents and culture media. Related administrative duties as required.

Responsibilities
  • Zebrafish husbandry, assisting in the maintenance and daily upkeep of a zebrafish facility, and providing support for laboratory experiments

  • Perform or oversees general lab duties and lab stocking duties (stocking reagents, autoclaving, dishes, making solutions)

  • Training for other lab skills and administrative duties (i.e. safety and EH&S pickup)

Required Qualifications
  • Experience with zebrafish handling and PCR genotyping is required.

  • Experience with histology and cloning is desired.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Salary Range

$33,000- $35,568
