How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As an Analyst, you will be a key member of the Sourcing Center of Excellence (COE), responsible for supporting supplier performance management, spend analytics, and data-driven sourcing initiatives. This role will analyze supplier performance metrics, procurement spend, cost trends, and operational KPIs to provide actionable insights that improve supplier reliability, drive cost savings, and support strategic decision-making across the organization. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to solve business challenges through data analysis and actionable insights are essential for success in this role.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Analyze spend data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations that support business objectives.
  • Support monthly Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reporting, analysis, and benefits tracking.
  • Conduct tariff impact analysis and scenario modeling to assess the financial and operational implications of trade policy changes, duties, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain data management processes that ensure data integrity, quality, and accessibility.
  • Design, automate, and enhance reporting, dashboards, and data visualizations using business intelligence tools.
  • Partner with sourcing, operations, finance, supplier quality, commodity managers, change managers, and business unit stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and distribute supplier performance reports and support supplier performance reviews and improvement initiatives.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement analytical tools, systems, and software solutions that improve sourcing effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Develop, document, and deploy standard processes and best practices to improve consistency, effectiveness, and results across the Sourcing organization.
  • Lead and support special projects and ad hoc analyses for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple priorities and complex information across businesses in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply critical thinking, logic, and sound business judgment to evaluate alternatives and solve complex business problems.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in data analytics, with demonstrated success transforming incomplete, inconsistent, and complex datasets into actionable business insights.
  • Experience in ERP systems / applications - JD Edwards, SAP etc.
  • Experience supporting Sourcing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations environments, with an understanding of supplier performance, procurement, inventory, cost, and operational metrics.
  • Ability to create powerful visuals that are easy to conceptualize.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong data management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to cleanse, structure, and synthesize large datasets from disparate systems and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that drive business decisions and measurable results.
  • Advanced data visualization skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear, compelling, and actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, balancing multiple priorities while driving projects to completion
  • Strong command of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) analytical skills using Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas etc.), SharePoint
  • Comfortable operating in environments where data governance, processes, and reporting structures are still being developed, with a track record of bringing order, clarity, and actionable insights from imperfect data.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related field
  • Data Science certification preferred.

Travel & Working Environment

  • Our COE team is a highly collaborative, fast-moving group that enjoys solving difficult business problems, challenging conventional thinking, and having fun while delivering meaningful results. We value curiosity, teamwork, continuous learning, and a willingness to roll up our sleeves to make an impact.
  • Travel on occasion: ~10%
