RICAR Business Consulting (RBC) is a management and advisory firm that helps commercial clients identify and close operational, contractual, and organizational risk using its proprietary STRIDE™ and SRMF™ frameworks. We serve owner-operated and mid-market companies — including general and specialty contractors — that need senior-level oversight without the cost of a full-time hire.

The opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced consultant who can engage senior decision-makers, win advisory engagements, and deliver them using RBC’s frameworks. This is a high-autonomy, commission-only role for a professional who wants their earnings tied directly to the value they create — backed by RBC’s brand, methodology, and marketing support.

Location & schedule

Hybrid, based in the Tampa, FL area. You’ll combine remote work with regular in-person collaboration — typically a few days per week — concentrated on onboarding, methodology training, and team strategy and deal-review sessions. Client discovery and site visits happen in the field across our target markets.

What you’ll do

• Engage executive decision-makers — owners, presidents, and senior leaders — at target commercial firms.

• Run structured discovery that surfaces contractual, operational, and organizational risk and ties it to business outcomes.

• Position and close RBC’s advisory engagements and ongoing retainers.

• Deliver and advise using RBC’s frameworks, supported by the firm’s collateral and onboarding.

• Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities, supported by RBC’s marketing and brand assets.

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years of professional experience, including senior-level business development or advisory work.

• Executive-level selling experience — a track record of opening and closing deals with senior, signatory decision-makers.

• Professional-services or advisory background — comfort selling intangible, high-value services and articulating ROI.

• Success in commission-based roles — self-directed, disciplined, and comfortable without a base salary.

• A consultative, discovery-first approach and strong executive presence.

• Construction vertical (preferred for that track) — direct construction experience: general contracting, project management, owner’s representation, project controls, or construction contracts/surety.

• Education: bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.

• Certifications a plus (not required): CRIS, PMP / PMI-CP, DBIA, or CMC.

Compensation

Commission-only, with uncapped earning potential. Illustrative on-target earnings for a consultant building a typical book of roughly five engagements and three ongoing retainers per year:

• Year-1 target (ramp): approximately $85,000 – $180,000.

• Steady-state (Years 2–3): approximately $130,000 – $240,000.

These figures are illustrative on-target earning potential and are not a guaranteed minimum; actual earnings depend on results. RBC provides access to its frameworks and collateral, a structured onboarding, and marketing support so you’re never going in cold.

Work authorization

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis, without the need for current or future visa sponsorship. RBC does not provide immigration or visa sponsorship for this engagement.
