Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care related activities including: rooming patients, documenting clinical information, and placing orders according to established policies and procedures.

Job Functions

When performing clinical support functions


  1. Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR
  2. Preps patient charts for upcoming clinic schedule
  3. Performs room turn over in patient rooms between patients and at the end of day
  4. Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary
  5. Assists with patient education
  6. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:

Employment Requirements

Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications


  • Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing
  • Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Assistant (RMA) (LPNs/MAs will have 1 year to become certified in order to maintain employment)
  • Current CPR certification

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities


  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

Preferred Qualifications


  • EMR experience
  • Previous clinic experience in CMA or LPN role
