Position Summary:

The Assembler assists in the food tray make-up area by starting, assembling and/or checking & loading completed patient food trays on delivery carts. Cleans & stocks assembly area with appropriate foods and supplies. Assist in the dish room when scheduled.

Education and Experience:



  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be literate to the extent of reading and understanding the starter ticket for Room Service - expo, hot and cold and diet restrictions.
  • Food service experience requested but not required.


Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Accurately check/loading and maintain assembly area par levels at assigned stations.
  • Accurately assembles patients' trays and checks menus to ensure tray accuracy.
  • Load patients' trays onto carts for delivery and follow electronic scan procedure.
  • Checks tray line accurately and professionally.
  • Accurately cleans patient tray line after each meal and maintain all food service equipment according to standards.
  • Timely delivery of special requests to patients as needed.
  • Accurately work and/or assist with nourishment and snacks as needed.
  • Effectively work in the different stations in the dish room as assigned or if needed.
  • Accurate completion and recording of all refrigerator and dish room temperatures.
  • Keep assembly area clean and stocked as indicated on job outline sheets.
  • Adheres to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Check trays and patient menus for accuracy per dietary prescription.

Salary Range: Minimum 18.27/hour - Maximum 28.91/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
