Our investigations focus on fundamental cellular processes such as cell growth, survival and regeneration, as well as on the identification and validation of new therapeutic targets. Effects of genetic, pharmacological, and physiological (e.g., exercise) interventions are explored using high throughput profiling and screening techniques as well as mechanistic studies in mouse and cell culture models. Several promising therapeutic targets have come out of our work, including intracellular and intercellular signaling proteins and non-coding RNAs. The selected candidate will join a group of talented and motivated basic and clinician scientists whose work has direct translational applications.
