Senior Designer

We create modern, high-impact web experiences across Windows, Surface, and Copilot where storytelling, interaction, and design craft come together to move people from curiosity to action.

We'relooking for a Senior Designer to lead the visual and interactive expression of these experiences. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who can move seamlessly from concept to execution by combiningdesignsensibility with front-end fluency.

You'lldefine and build elegant, performant experiences across the customer journey and bring togethersystemsthinking, motion, and modern web technologies.You'rehands-on, detail-obsessed, and comfortable working at the intersection of design and engineering. You also know how toleverageemerging AI tools to accelerate workflow without compromising craft.

Experience Design

• Lead concepting and design for full websites, campaign experiences, and key interactive moments. Create work that is clear, expressive, and grounded in the customer journey.

Front-End Craft & Development

• Translate design intent into production-ready experiences using modern web technologies (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Build prototypes and partner closely with engineering to ensure the final output matches the vision.

Interaction and Motion

• Define interaction models, transitions, and micro-interactions that feel intentional, responsive, and refined across devices.

Prototyping and Alignment

• Create wireframes, high-fidelity designs, motion studies, and coded prototypes to align teams, test ideas, and resolve complexity early.

Performance and Quality

• Design and build with performance in mind.Optimize forspeed, responsiveness, and strong Core Web Vitals without compromising design integrity.

Accessibility

• Ensure experiences meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards, with thoughtful consideration for color, typography, motion, and interaction patterns.

Data-Informed Iteration

• Use research and analytics to inform decisions.Formhypotheses, test ideas, and refine experiences based on real user behavior.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with creative leads, writers, engineers, search engine optimization (SEO), and business partners to alignondirection and deliver cohesive, high-quality experiences.

Required/minimum qualifications

• Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience designing and shipping interactive web experiences for leading consumer or product brands
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience designing and shipping interactive web experiences for leading consumer or product brands
• OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience designing and shipping interactive web experiences for leading consumer or product brands).

Additional or preferred qualifications

• Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience designing and shipping interactive web experiences for leading consumer or product brands
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience designing and shipping interactive web experiences for leading consumer or product brands
• OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience designing and shipping interactive web experiences for leading consumer or product brands).
• 4+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
• The ability to provide a portfolio of relevant work for review.
• Experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React or Next.js
• Experience with accessibility standards aligned to WCAG 2.2 AA
• Experience in Figma and component-based design systems. Experience defining responsive behaviors and create clear, scalable specifications
• Experience working with headless content management system (CMS) platforms and modern web stacks
• Experience contributing to or evolving large-scale design systems
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate concepting and production while maintaining quality and brand standards

Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800.00 - $234,700.00 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200.00 - $261,000.00 per year.
