Description

Job Responsibilities



  • Supervises and evaluates paraprofessional staff; assists staff with disruptive resident juveniles via the development of behavior modification and counseling intervention.
  • Provides on the job training for new employees; conducts orientation sessions for staff and visitors; assists in the supervision of residents; supervises visitation programs between residents, family and court approved visitors.
  • Supervises admissions and/or releases of residents during off-business hours; approves and monitors any resident needing isolation.
  • Develops plans and program activities as prescribed by medical, clinical, and administrative staff; attends case work planning meetings; dispenses medication when necessary; maintains appropriate records, files and or logs; orders, distributes and inventories all necessary supplies used by residents.
  • Supervises overall safety and security procedures; conducts fire drills; completes necessary follow up reports following emergency situations.
  • Ensures that residents are cared for in a safe, structured, secure environment.
  • Other related activities may be performed although not listed.


Job Requirements



  • Associates Degree in Human Services (or equivalent) and 4 years of full-time paid experience working with at-risk youth in a detention or residential setting and 1 year functioning in a supervisory capacity OR 6 years of full-time paid experience working with at-risk youth in a detention or residential setting.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with variable hours including day, evening, weekend, holiday and subject to call hours.
  • Require a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Travel is required. Ability to coordinate and plan travel for visits and appointments in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
  • Capable of working in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to become TCI, First/Aid CPR certified.
