We're excited to be opening a brand-new office in Weymouth and are looking for dedicated team members to help us launch this location successfully. Prior to the office opening, candidates must be willing to complete training at other nearby sites. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team, contribute to the success of a new practice, and make a meaningful impact on patient care from day one.
About the Role
We are seeking both new and experienced ophthalmic assistants to join our team. Certified and uncertified candidates are encouraged to apply!
Whether you are looking to begin a career in Ophthalmology or build upon existing experience, our team is committed to providing the training, mentorship, and support needed for long-term success.
As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play an important role in the patient experience by gathering and documenting clinical information, assisting providers with examinations and procedures, and helping to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the practice. Working closely with our Ophthalmologists and clinical team, you will help support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of a wide variety of ocular conditions.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialized clinical skills in a highly respected and rewarding field while working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Training & Scheduling Information
To ensure a successful onboarding experience, the first 2-3 months of training may take place at our Boston locations and may include supporting other locations as needed prior to the Weymouth site becoming fully operational. Following the opening of the Weymouth office, occasional coverage at other locations may be required based on operational needs.
Hours are assigned based on clinical and operational needs, as well as staff availability, and may vary. Typical shifts may include, but are not limited to:
7:45 AM - 4:15 PM
8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
No

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of ocular terminology, anatomy, and physiology of the eye, ocular diseases and disorders, ophthalmic procedures, and pharmacology.
- Proficient in interpersonal and customer service skills to effectively work with patients and families.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the patients' age, mental and physical needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changes in fast-paced, high-volume clinics.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with members of the care team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions based on the role's scope of practice
- Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
