RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated RN for our Logistics Bed Board Management at Community Medical Center.

Community Medical Center, is a 592-bed, fully accredited acute care hospital offering area residents world-class medical treatment with the comforts of hometown care. Opened in 1961, CMC has evolved into the state's newest teaching hospital with four residency programs and Ocean County's largest and most active health care facility-caring for over 21,500 inpatients, 178,000 outpatients and 73,700 emergency department patients each year.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or currently matriculating.
  • Minimum three (3) years acute care nursing experience with previous management experience.
  • Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day shift

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate placement of patients throughout the hospital. Ensures that all needs are evaluated for patient placement.
  • Acts as central contact for decisions related to bed management.
  • Tracks and trends barriers to patient flow, makes recommendations and develops action plans to improve processes and systems.
  • Prepares daily bed management analyses to identify opportunities for improvement in admission planning.
  • Communicates with physicians and nurses regarding emergency and direct admissions based on bed availability, treatment plan and admission criteria. Initiates and maintains communication throughout the day with Emergency Department, Operating Room, Cath lab and other specialty areas.
  • Works with Case Management, Nursing, Environmental Services and other departments in order to proactively plan for patient admissions, discharges and transfers for effective patient flow. Ensures that the Logistics Department follows E-Handoff Protocols Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Develops implements and maintains unit budget. Maintains unit administration including scheduling and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
