HR Generalist (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Charlotte, NC (Uptown)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly adaptable HR Generalist to join a fast-paced, rapidly evolving HR team environment. This is a 90 day contract opportunity with potential to go full time. Designed for an HR professional who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is eager to make an immediate impact.

This role will support critical HR operations following recent departmental restructuring, requiring someone who can quickly step in, prioritize effectively, and help bring structure to a high-volume workload.

Key Responsibilities

HR Systems & Data Management



  • Support ongoing Paycom system cleanup and troubleshooting following a multi-agency implementation
  • Maintain accurate HR data and assist with system updates and audits


HRIS Reporting & Analytics



  • Generate and analyze reports from HRIS systems
  • Organize and manage data using Excel, including maintaining internal trackers and dashboards


HR Operations & Administration



  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support across multiple functions
  • Process and track Leaves of Absence (LOA) and ensure FMLA compliance
  • Assist with documentation and internal HR workflows


Recruiting Support



  • Partner with the recruiting team on high-volume hiring needs by:


    • Drafting and sending offer letters
    • Scheduling interviews
    • Conducting phone screens
    • Supporting exit interview processes



Required Qualifications

Experience & Background



  • 2-5+ years of experience in a true HR Generalist role
  • Experience in small to mid-sized organizations where you've supported multiple HR functions
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment


Technical Skills



  • Microsoft Excel: Strong proficiency (reporting, sorting, tracking data)
  • Paycom experience: Highly preferred (but not required)
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and data management

    • Fully onsite initially for onboarding/training
