FTE 1Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 80Work Shift Day: MixedJob Description The Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse, who, as a result of graduate education and in-depth clinical experience possesses the advanced knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide expert nursing care. The major functions of the CNS/NP include education, consultation, clinical practice, research, and leadership. The primary responsibility is the direct application of clinical expertise to patients/families and patient care staff. The CNS/NP plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates nursing care and clinical programs for patients. In addition, the CNS/NP advances nursing practice and optimizes patient outcomes through education, leadership and participation in clinical research in collaboration with Service Line Leader and Physicians. The CNS/NP practices in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and the ANA Bill of Rights for Nursing as well as the Hospital/Department policies. The CNS/NP provides care in a collaborative manner with other health team members to ensure optimal, individualized patient care and outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
The Stroke Program Coordinator/CNS is accountable for the accreditation and certification of the program, including all supporting data, process improvement, and multidisciplinary evidence-based practice development, including:
Secondary responsibilities include staff development regarding care of the Stroke patient and development of related materials and input on related PI projects. The Behavioral Health CNS coordinates activities for the Behavioral Health Services and the Medical Center:
The CNS leads and directs the diagnosis-based teams in the care and service of Behavioral Health patients across the continuum. Promotes effective and appropriate utilization of clinical, ancillary and material resources. Assumes a leadership role with the interdisciplinary team to define and achieve optimal clinical and resource outcomes, assures Behavioral Health patients receive care that consistently follows evidence-based standards, and is in accordance with organizational goals including; disease-specific care measures, regulatory standards as defined by the program. License/Certification/Registration Requirements 1. Current California RN license. 2. California certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or California licensure as a NP Current 3. BLS certification Department Specific: Stroke Coordinator/Neurovascular
Neonatal
Neonatal -License/Certification/Registration Requirements 1. Certification in specialty area preferred (i.e. Neonatal) 2. Certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally recognized accrediting organization 3. Current NRP certification Behavioral Health
BHS License/Certification/Registration Requirements 1. Certification in specialty area preferred Psychiatric and Mental Health 2. National certification through ANCC or via national credentialing association as appropriate to specialty is preferred. 3. Certification in Nonviolent Crisis intervention Training or equivalent certification. HVI
