| Primary Purpose of the Organization: |
The Department of Nursing is a division of the College of Arts & Sciences at Fayetteville State University. The Nursing Department prepares both pre-licensure students and R.N. students to receive their
BSN degree. |
| Primary Purpose of the Position: |
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the School of Nursing. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: |
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
| Knowledge skills and abilities: |
- Verbal Communication-Responds to questions/issues that deviate from standard operating procedures by determining and consulting appropriate resources such as policies, manuals or other staff. Responds to requests for program and procedural information. Contacts service recipients, vendors, or clients to provide or obtain information. Schedules and coordinates appointments, meetings and events.
- Written Communication-Composes written communication with guidance using standard formats, Composes correspondence involving program or operational procedures independently from general instructions or brief summaries.
- Office Technology-Selects, understands and fully applies features of a variety of software programs, machines or office equipment that will produce the desired results.
- Work Coordination-Plans and facilitates the support activities of an office or work unit; coordinates with other to complete tasks.
- Problem Solving-Assesses and may resolve unprecedented problems that require research and review of policy and procedures. Applies judgement for the problem resolutions based on delegated authority from supervisor.
- Program Knowledge-Understands programs and services to apply this knowledge in problem solving and responding to most questions and inquiries. Uses program knowledge to interface with other offices or departments.
- Information and Records Administration-Records, complies and summarizes data using established format. Complies and organizes information from different sources to develop data and reports.
