Position Details

  • Schedule: Full-time 1.0FTE 40 hours/week.
  • Location: Northeast Minneapolis Corporate Office -Hybrid (Remote potential after training is complete)
  • Salary Range: Starting range $60,028.20-$69,014.40/year (Where an applicant may fall on the salary range will vary based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience & education)

Key Responsibilities

Payroll and System Administration



  • Maintain and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly basis ensuring accurate job data changes, rates of pay, earnings, deductions, and tax withholding.
  • Process monthly distributions, quarterly, and annual year-end bonus payrolls for multiple companies. Process additional off-cycle payrolls as needed.
  • Complete appropriate audits related to tax filing and file transmissions to external entities including benefit providers, banks, government agencies, etc.
  • Ensure compliance, maintain knowledge of payroll related federal, state, local, tax/wage and hour laws and best practices.
  • Provide timely customer service to all employees with payroll questions or concerns.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies/irregularities timely with a focus on continuous process improvement and error reduction.
  • Ensure data integrity within the HRIS system as it relates to onboarding new hires, job changes, terminations, benefit enrollment, direct deposit, and tax forms.
  • Monitor and maintain HRIS system performance including review, testing and implementation of new systems, system configuration changes, and/or upgrades. Collaborate with HRIS vendor, UKG, for support by submitting support cases/service requests as needed.


Benefit Administration



  • Administration of benefit enrollment for new hire, annual open enrollment and qualifying life event changes; approve enrollments, perform audits, and prepare and send enrollment files to benefit vendors.
  • Ensure accurate enrollment through audits and invoice reconciliation
  • Assist employees with enrollment submissions and questions timely.
  • Communicate with employees regarding election changes, discrepancies or necessary updates including annual contribution limits and other benefit related items.
  • Maintain benefit vendor relationships
  • Develop and provide reporting to leadership and internal and external parties as requested.
  • Responsible for required mandated reporting including but not limited to ACA and EEOC, etc.
  • Respond to employee and leadership inquiries related to benefits and HRIS functionality including time and attendance records, job changes, benefit enrollment/changes, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute appropriate HRIS communications in a timely manner to address system and process changes. Create and maintain end user training materials.
  • Manage employee leave of absence planning and questions including creating individualized benefit payment plans for each employee on a leave of absence.
  • Responsible for administration of the Variable Pay Program.
  • Ensure the system is prepared for configuration changes as required to meet organizational needs and adhere to all regulations.
  • Assist with physician leave of absence planning and questions. Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partner, Provider Requests, Site Administrative Director and provider to develop PDO and leave of absence plan prior to leave start date.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered in place of degree. Knowledge of HRIS system utilization and data highly preferred. Knowledge of FLSA and wage and hour laws required. Previous payroll experience and two or more years of progressively responsible human resources experience strongly preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:



  • PHR/SHRM-CP, SPHR/SHRM-SCP, or CPP certification is preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift and transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and reach to hang scopes and stock supplies. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move quickly on their feet. Employees must be able to tolerate personal protective equipment including; gowns, gloves, face masks and eye protection. Employees may be required to travel to other company locations due to staffing and training needs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee works in a clinical environment and may be exposed to hazardous chemicals or conditions including exposure to blood or other body fluids. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training will be provided. The employee is exposed to a computer monitor daily. The employee may be required to travel by automobile and exposed to changing weather conditions while performing the duties of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be alert to conditions that may impact the safety of patients, employees and visitors.
