Brief Description:

WestEd's Early Care, Disabilities and Well-Being (ECDMB) team within the Center for Early Childhood provides training and technical assistance in policy development, translation of research to practice, systems evaluation, and implementation of evidence-based practices in support of infants, toddlers, young children and their families. The team partners with federal, state, and local education, health, developmental and behavioral/mental health agencies and programs to transform early childhood programs and systems and create deep and lasting impact for children and their families. Projects and services utilize research-informed strategies and meaningful stakeholder engagement to build the capacity of systems and service providers within these systems to implement effective procedures, processes and practices that support successful outcomes for diverse, vulnerable and under-served populations.

As part of the California Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) Network team, the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist/Reflective Practice Faciliator will support the professional development of IECMH consultants and students across this large-scale, statewide project. A successful candidate will be endorsed by the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health as a Reflective Practice Facilitator II (RPF II) or Reflective Practice Mentor (RPM), bringing extensive experience providing and receiving reflective practice within early childhood programs, agencies and/or state systems.

Responsibilities



  • Provide reflective practice to IECMHC Network consultants and students participating in California's IECMH Consultant Training Program.
  • Support the implementation of a full continuum of IECMHC services and supports available to child care and early learning settings during emergency preparedness/mitigation, response and recovery associated with natural disasters and emergency situations.
  • Assist in content development and delivery of training on topics in reflective practice, trauma-responsive care, and other IECMH-related topics.
  • Collaborate with team members in the development of professional development materials and resources, reports, and professional publications related to IECMH.
  • Participate in project and program meetings.


Qualifications



  • Master's degree in mental health or related field. Clinical license (preferred) or eligibility for clinical license.
  • Endorsed or eligible for endorsement as a RPF II or RPM by the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health.
  • At least 5 years of experience administering and delivering infant and early childhood mental health programs and services.
  • At least 5 years of experience providing/receiving reflective practice.
  • At least 5 years of experience providing training and technical assistance with professionals in child care and early learning settings.
  • Understanding and application of adult learning theory.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and function as part of a dynamic and passionate team.
  • Proficiency with common software applications: Word and PowerPoint for Mac and Windows, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom.
  • Travel possibility up to 20% in California.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

The full salary range for this position, WestEd level (10), at 60% is $55,200 to $85,800 but WestEd does not typically hire at or near the top of the salary range. The typical hiring range for this role is $55,200 to $69,000. The actual offer considers multiple factors, including but not limited to education, experience, internal equity, and other organizational needs.

In addition to the base salary, benefits include:

* 15% contribution toward retirement effective day 1 of employment and immediately 100% vested
