Application Window Open date: May 28, 2026 Next review date: Saturday, Jun 27, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Saturday, Jun 27, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The University of California, Irvine Department of Dance seeks applicants for a three-quarter, non-tenure-track position teaching intermediate to advanced ballet. Classes will incorporate classical ballet vocabulary and may also include contemporary or neo-classical styles. The ballet classes will be taught throughout Fall quarter (September 21, 2026 - December 11, 2026), Winter quarter (January 4, 2027 - March 19, 2027), and Spring quarter (March 24, 2027 - June 11, 2027). The successful candidate will teach a 10-week course each quarter designed for undergraduate and graduate dance majors, emphasizing technical proficiency, artistic expression, and an understanding of ballet's evolution within contemporary practice. Approaches that integrate historical, somatic, or interdisciplinary perspectives on ballet training are especially welcome.
