Customer Service Clerk
Bay Shore, NY
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Job Summary

The Customer Service Clerk serves as a primary point of contact for customers, delivering accurate information, resolving inquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience. This role supports daily operations by handling customer requests, processing transactions, maintaining records, and coordinating with internal teams to meet customer needs efficiently and professionally.

Job Responsibilities



  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide accurate information regarding products, services, policies, and procedures
  • Resolve customer concerns and complaints, escalating complex issues when necessary
  • Process customer orders, returns, refunds, exchanges, and service requests accurately
  • Enter, update, and maintain customer information in internal systems
  • Verify pricing, product availability, and order status
  • Perform EDI order entry and related tasks
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions
  • Generate basic reports related to customer activity as needed
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as billing, sales, shipping, and technical support
  • Identify trends or recurring issues and provide feedback for service improvements
  • Support additional clerical and administrative tasks as assigned


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including email and office software
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving abilities


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent required


Work Experience



  • Previous customer service or clerical experience preferred
  • Experience in call center, retail, or service-based environments is a plus


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working within ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with EDI processes and order entry

  • Work environment: 100% onsite
