Be You. Department of Pharmacology & Cancer Biology is looking for a Research Associate, Senior to work alongside Dr. Michael Kastan in research projects. Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g. Sc.D., M.D., D.V.M.). The appointee must have greater than 5 years of postdoctoral or equivalent training. This position is (insert options below). Onsite. The work is performed on-site or at a designated assignment location. Be Bold. You will be involved in the department's research activities as follows: Perform scientific experiments, including, but not limited to, the following techniques: Mammalian cell culture Cloning/subcloning/targeted mutagenesis Protein assays, especially immunoblots and immunoprecipitations RT-PCR and RNA analyses Cell transfections and selections Cell survival assays Flow cytometry Other cell/molecular biology techniques as appropriate Partner with the PI in directing the scientific directions of the laboratory, including expectations to regularly read and interpret relevant scientific literature General Keep up with regulatory processes (animal, safety, radiation protocols, SOPs, etc) Orienting and participating in oversight of laboratory members, including students, post-doctoral fellows and technicians Maintaining personal laboratory records and ensuring lab records of other members is appropriate Communicating regularly with the PI and laboratory members Interface with other Duke scientists, including core laboratories Choose Duke.
