Compensation for this position ranges competitively from $30.00 to $49.00 per hour, commensurate with your experience, technical skills, and dedication to excellence.


Additionally, this role offers a$2.00 differential pay for work performed onsite at Ely's mine location. Komatsu supports seamless work arrangements by covering travel and hotel expenses associated with assignments away from home base.

Your role will demand high technical acumen, with responsibilities including timely and effective repair of machine components within the workshop setting, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, and consistently meeting repair efficiency metrics. You will actively engage with Komatsu's Technician Competency Matrix, aiming to excel in technical proficiency, soft skills, and safety standards to support organizational goals.


Scope of Responsibilities and Performance Metrics:



  • Achieve an annual repair efficiency of 85% or above by effectively managing repair workflows.
  • Maintain rework hours below 3% relative to billable hours to uphold quality standards.
  • Comply with standardized repair times for various equipment as defined by Komatsu Equipment Company's job codes.
  • Consistently meet and strive to exceed balanced scorecard performance indicators across technical and interpersonal competencies.
  • Attain minimum competency matrix scores illustrating excellence in safety (at least 7), technical (4-6), and soft skills (4-6), promoting a safe and collaborative work environment.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Execute assigned maintenance and repair tasks efficiently, aiming to meet or exceed flat rate time benchmarks while minimizing rework to uphold quality and productivity.
  • Adhere rigorously to all Komatsu Equipment Company and customer safety policies, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly, including work orders, parts requisitions, job safety analyses (JSAs), and database entries utilizing systems such as DBS, SIMS, SIS web, and STW.
  • Apply strict contamination control and hazardous materials handling procedures aligned with company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform mechanical disassembly, assembly, testing, and adjustments with minimal supervision, utilizing your advanced technical skills to maintain equipment operability.
  • Provide clear and accurate quotations and pricing estimates to customers, facilitating informed decision-making and optimal service delivery.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions through detailed inspection and problem-solving techniques, offering effective repair recommendations based on analysis.
  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of repairs and adjustments to ensure full functionality and compliance with operational specifications.
  • Leverage general failure analysis methodologies to support precise diagnostics and effective corrective actions.
  • Foster proactive communication with team members and customers, reporting any safety concerns or operational anomalies promptly.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED is required; an Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or related technical discipline is preferred, reflecting a strong foundational knowledge base.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in heavy machinery maintenance, repair, or equivalent technical training; candidates with a combination of education and hands-on experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to work varied schedules, including shifts, to meet operational demands.

  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, correspondence, and technical documentation accurately.
