Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join MSK's Thoracic Surgery team as an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) and play a key role in delivering high-quality inpatient surgical oncology care. In this role, you will collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support patients throughout their thoracic surgery treatment journey while helping deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

Role Overview:
  • Provide comprehensive care to inpatient thoracic surgical oncology patients

  • Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members

  • Address the medical, surgical, and psychosocial needs of patients

  • Participate in the implementation of patient education and clinical support programs to promote continuity of care across the healthcare continuum

  • Support evidence-based practice initiatives and contribute to quality improvement and research efforts

  • Help implement and evaluate standards of care within the Thoracic Surgery service

Key Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner (NP):
  • Current New York State (NYS) RN and NP licenses/registrations

  • Master's degree in nursing with prescriptive privileges (or eligibility)

  • Related National NP certification

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience strongly preferred

Physician Assistant (PA):
  • Graduate from an accredited PA program

  • NCCPA certification

  • Active New York State license or eligible for state licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience strongly preferred

Core Skills:
  • Strong clinical decision-making skills with the ability to make timely, effective decisions in complex clinical environments

  • Ability to work effectively with complex and sometimes evolving information

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage patient care responsibilities effectively

  • Skilled at collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and building support around shared priorities

  • Adaptable and flexible in response to changing patient and operational needs

  • Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams

  • Flexible regarding scheduling needs

Additional Information:
  • Schedule: 6:30am - 6:30pm; rotating weekends and holidays; 13 shifts per month

  • Location: Main Hospital Campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY

  • Reports to: Manager, APP

Pay Range: $136,400.00 - $225,100.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
