The Information Systems Analyst supports data management and research operations within a genetics research laboratory in the Department of Psychiatry. The laboratory focuses on genetic and genomic research, and this role provides an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in the life sciences to develop data and computing skills in a research environment. The incumbent will apply basic professional IT concepts and departmental policies to resolve routine to moderately complex data and computing issues. In addition, the incumbent will work on problems of limited to moderate scope involving data pipelines, database maintenance, and software support for laboratory and research infrastructure. Training and mentorship will be provided for candidates with strong foundational skills and motivation to learn. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating the laboratory's PostgreSQL database, establishing and maintaining data flow within the laboratory and with collaborators, setting up and maintaining archives, serving as a point of contact for high-performance computing (HPC) clusters, performing quality control for data inputs and analysis outputs, developing data extraction algorithms, improving data organization, coordinating team efforts on data extraction, and assisting with training of new bioinformatics team members. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $55,400 - $93,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $26.53 - $44.92 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
