In the role of Senior Accounting Assistant, we'll count on you to:
- Perform accounting functions such as payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, collections, budgets, financial planning, general accounting, billing, etc
- Support project lifecycle activities such as project setup, subcontract administration, closeouts, and maintaining accurate project data and timelines.
- Assist with financial monitoring tasks, including labor transfers, timesheet review, and cost recovery.
- Provide general support to accounting and project management teams while maintaining accurate records and assisting with day-to-day operational needs.
- Coordinate and process administrative accounting tasks such as purchase requisitions, amendments to purchase requisitions, credit requests, and internal reporting requirements.
- Assist with financial monitoring tasks, including labor transfers, timesheet review, cost recovery, and ensuring accuracy in project-related transactions.
- Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment
- Do routine work and follow detailed instructions
- Involve the use of computers to maintain financial records and accounting reports
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years of experience
- Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle confidential information
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
