Job Description

The Regional Maintenance Specialist is a high-level technical role responsible for the expert-level repair, maintenance, and optimization of complex production equipment acrosscommercial printfacilities. This role serves as an internal subject matter expert, bridging the gap between standard facility maintenance and expensive third-party OEM service visits.

  • Subject Matter Expertise:
    • Diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic issues on primary press platforms and associated building equipment. SpecificallyManroland,Heidelberg, andKomori.
  • Preventative Maintenance:
    • Develop, establish, and manage a cost-effective PM program by analyzing equipment failure trends to maximize machine uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with the latest technologies and apply Continuous Improvement (CI) disciplines to positively impact quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead technical projects to ensure timely completion, budget attainment, and alignment with department operating plans and capital/expense budgets.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate with plant management, manufacturing supervisors, and internal support groups to resolve problems, achieve daily throughput goals, and reduce waste.
  • Vendor Relations:
    • Work frequently with outside suppliers, vendors, and contractors, maintaining highly ethical business practices.
  • Regional Support:
    • Provide dedicated support to multiple regional facilities, requiring a willingness to work remotely and travel frequently.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree - Associate degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - Bachelor's degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline

Minimum Vocational / Technical - Technical degree in either a mechanical or electrical discipline or equivalent discipline

10+ years of mechanical experience with printing presses and associated auxiliaries.

8+ years as a Subject Matter Expert with manufacturing equipment.

5+ years of leadership experience in Manufacturing and Distribution Operations.

  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing-oriented mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as parts and building/property management.
  • Ability to utilize computer systems to collect and analyze data (strong proficiency in MS Windows, Word, and Excel).
  • Knowledge of 5S, Six Sigma, and Process Variability Reduction is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization, coach staff effectively, and partner with HR to support a diverse, inclusive workplace.
  • Proven ability to lead a technical team and drive change in a fast-paced, 24-hour manufacturing environment.

Travel 50%+

Additional Information

Thesalary range for this role at the noted RRD location is $68,500-$106,900 annually. Starting pay decisions are determined based on multiple factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, skills, experience, certifications, proficiency, performance, shift, location, and other business needs.Typically, roles follow step progressions to a target rate or set increments over time. Depending on the role, in addition to the hourly rate of pay, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and/or stand-by pay.
