The Tootle lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Iowa is seeking a full-timePostbaccalaureate Research Intern (paid position) to contribute to our research onhow different forms of nuclear actin regulate nucleolar activity. We use the robust genetic system of Drosophila and the well-characterized process of oogenesis, in combination with immunofluorescent and biochemical approaches, high resolution confocal microscopy, and quantitative image analyses.

This position is ideal for individualsseekingintensive, mentored research training in preparation for graduate school or a career inbiological sciences. The intern will gain hands-on experience acrossgenetics, confocal microscopy, protein biochemistry, and quantitative analysesin a highly collaborative and supportive environment. This position is idealofindividuals planning to apply to graduate school ingenetics, cell biology, developmental biology, biomedicalsciences or related fields.
