Job Summary
Under general direction, manage the administrative operations across multiple grants, cooperative agreements, and business contracts of diverse scope. The Research Admin is responsible for keeping faculty, staff, and subcontractors in compliance with the requirements and restrictions of awards and agreements; assisting third parties, including UCOP and Federal Offices/Agencies, with audits of expenditures; and developing and managing budgets and financial reports in an extremely fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. The role also requires compiling and analyzing complex financial data, monitoring trends, and developing projections to support strategic planning, ensure fiscal integrity, and inform decision-making. - Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related a field, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with grant funding processes, procedures, and techniques, including preparation of grant proposals and post-award management, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues across the full grant lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze, interpret, and manipulate complex financial data, perform advanced financial analysis, identify issues, and develop data-driven solutions and customized reports to support decision making.
- Thorough knowledge of research administration guidelines for Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activites, preferably within a university environment, with the ability to independently interpret and apply complex policies and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently with minimal direction, and adapt to changing priorities in a complex financial and regulatory environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders while maintaining a strong customer service focus across broad and varied subject areas.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to independently prioritize workload, manage multiple competing deadlines, and coordinate high-volume activities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated experience using the accounting module in Aggie Enterprise or similar Oracle based system, including the ability to navigate system functionality; extract, interpret, and manipulate financial data; and utilize system tools to support financial analysis, reporting, reconciliation, and compliance activities.

Work Environment UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
