We are seeking a Generated Gas Supervisor to support our facilities in Danville, VA (HPN), Asheboro, NC (HPN), and Lexington, NC (ASU). These facilities produce gaseous oxygen and nitrogen.

The Generated Gas Supervisor will be part of a two-person team responsible for supporting all aspects of day-to-day plant operations. This includes customer and business interface activities, safety and environmental compliance, maintenance budgeting, and employee training. The role requires developing a strong understanding of site operations, distribution, and maintenance, with a particular focus on leadership. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle the site's Basic Safety Process and Process Safety Management programs, supporting the company's goal of zero injuries.
  • Ensure environmental compliance in accordance with Air Products corporate standards and applicable governmental regulations.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of safe operating parameters, design limits, and permit requirements.
  • Support all aspects of daily operations, including troubleshooting process issues, supervising plant activities, and handling site projects.
  • Identify maintenance concerns and develop corrective actions in collaboration with the maintenance team, while executing site preventive maintenance and mechanical integrity programs.
  • Implement and share best practices across operations.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, including identifying and addressing root causes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A degree in engineering or a related technical field is a plus; equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Five or more years of relevant operations or maintenance experience in an industrial plant environment preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Self-motivated with proven leadership ability and a strong dedication to developing others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks and computer applications.
