The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary

  • Accountable to execute strategies and develop tactics that align with company and customer strategies to deliver shipment, forecast, consumption and share goals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop mutually beneficial joint business plans through distribution, assortment optimization and shelf execution for both Sam's Club and Walmart.
  • Manage trade funds within budget and analyze promotional spending to maximize ROI
  • Lead complex negotiations and establish effective pricing models to maximize long-term value for stakeholders.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of P&L for Sam's Club and Walmart accounts, delivering against revenue, profit and market share targets for categories including Pet Cleaning, Dog Chews, Seasonal, and Cat Treats.
  • Implement product, pricing, promotion and placement business tactics that align with brand strategies and meet Walmart and Sam's Club needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into actionable initiatives and deliver measurable results
  • Acts as primary point of contact for the customer for responsible categories and builds strong lasting relationships.
  • Utilized syndicated, Scintilla and Madrid as part of development ownership of sales plans and selling stories including JPB planning, Line Reviews and Innovation Summits.
  • Utilize financial acumen to assess business cases, forecast performance, demand planning and optimize resources allocation.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape to inform decision-making and identify new opportunities.
  • Translate business goals into actionable strategies that align with both organizational objectives and customer strategy.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities including innovation, pack architecture and item conversions that can drive incremental long-term growth to the business.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 4+ years of customer sales experience; ideally strong experience with Sam's Club and some experience with Walmart

Required Skills

  • Expert knowledge of Sam's Club and Walmart systems including Retail Link, Scintilla, Madrid, replenishment metrics (ie OTIF).
  • Proven analytical skills, computer proficiency, and experience working with ACNielsen data, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with strong bias for action and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work in fast paced, complex matrix environment
  • Background experience in .com, sales strategy, and/or category management ideal.
  • This is a hybrid position based in our Bentonville office; requires 10-15% travel
