We are seeking a pharmacometrician to join our Clinical and Quantitative Pharmacology organization in Translational Medicine. A Research Investigator or Senior Research Investigator supports the execution of model-based analyses for clinical drug development and is expected to contribute to key programs under mentorship and guidance. This role will be responsible for applying model-informed drug development (MIDD) approaches to support decision-making across phases of drug development. Candidates will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis as to whether their experience aligns with the Research Investigator or Senior Research Investigator requirements.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

  • Conducts model-based analyses including population pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), and exposure-response modeling under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assists in identifying opportunities where modeling and simulation can advance the understanding of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, efficacy, and safety within assigned projects.
  • Supports the development of MIDD strategies to optimize prospective studies and inform clinical development in collaboration with partners (clinical pharmacology, biostatistics, regulatory, and clinical development teams).
  • Communicates results, conclusions, and assumptions of pharmacometrics analyses to internal audiences in written reports and oral presentations.
  • Stays current with scientific advancements and regulatory trends in clinical pharmacology and pharmacometrics, and applies this knowledge to support drug development goals.
  • Contributes to peer-reviewed publications and internal scientific communications.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • Ph.D. in Pharmacometrics, Clinical Pharmacology, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0 to 2 years of related post-doctoral experience in pharmacometrics or clinical pharmacology (industry or academic).
  • Hands-on experience with NONMEM and R for pharmacometrics analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to balance execution of multiple tasks to accomplish program goals.
