| Job Description Summary: |
The Department of Epidemiology in the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health (
GWSPH) is seeking a Research Scientist (RS) to perform statistical analyses and create reports for an
NIH-funded longitudinal cohort study, called the "DC Cohort". This study captures clinical information on over 13,000 persons living with
HIV and receiving
HIV care or at high risk for
HIV in Washington, DC and has been operating since 2009. These activities will be under the overall direction of the DC Cohort PI with day-to-day reporting to the Project Director.
Responsibilities Include:
- Represent GWSPH by attending DC Cohort meetings and conference calls related to analytics
- Lead the design of analytic projects
- Lead feasibility analyses of potential Cohort papers
- Lead analysis of Cohort data
- Monitor weekly progress of Cohort related concepts and manuscripts
- Manage code library and databases on Armor
- Conduct code reviews of completed analyses
- Communicate and collaborate with the DC Cohort Data and Statistics Coordinating Center, Executive Committee, and DC CFAR investigators
- Prepare DC Cohort data for submission to external collaborators
- Provide support in daily management of Cohort data related activities
- Write/edit Cohort manuscripts, particularly the statistical methods sections of analyses conducted

| Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Master's degree plus 5 years of experience or a PhD plus 2 years of experience in a related discipline to include at least 2 years of research and/or college level teaching in a field basic to the work to be performed. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. |

| Preferred Qualifications: |
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience analyzing HIV data
- Experience with statistical techniques such as least squares and logistic regression, survival modeling and longitudinal data analysis.
- Experience working in SAS
