Position Location
This position will be located onsite in Fallon, Nevada.
Job Overview
Maintains Transportation's automotive and heavy equipment parts inventory, Government, USN, Chugach and GSA consignment.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Research automotive, commercial vehicle and heavy equipment repair components.
- Maintain computer data base.
- Receives, stores, issues, inventories and repairs hand & machine tools, shop supplies, equipment and other property.
- Receives, stores, issues, inventories, and supplies Government- owned loaner pool equipment.
- Performs material inventory as required.
- Process material requests from mechanics.
- Research parts by phone and fax requesting specifications, part numbers, price, and availability.
- Research OEM and vendor parts manuals.
- Complete material requisitions working closely with purchasing department.
- Complete data entry on service repair orders, materials quantity, and price.
- Receive and issue materials on a requisition log for GSA, USN and Chugach equipment.
- Maintain a clean workspace i.e., parts and tool room and office spaces.
- Create estimate from mechanics request, receive GSA PO from production control, order materials as per material requisitions SOP.
- Inventory GSA consignment weekly.
- Keep records of tools issued to and returned by workers.
- Searches for lost or misplaced tools and initiates paperwork if tool is not recovered.
- Repair damaged tools or generates material requisition for tool to be sent out for repair.
- Conducts periodic inventories of tools as directed.
- Performs safety and preventive maintenance inspections as designated by the tool manufacturer or DBSI policy and maintains records for such inspections.
- Required to perform various other duties directly related to and within the classification, such as, but not limited to, file maintenance, workspace clean up, and telephone answering.
- Required to adhere to the established Chugach Safety and Personnel policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Must possess the ability to perform assigned work tasks without more than normal supervision.
- Preforms other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accuracy and timeliness of parts Tool Room and warehouse document processing, not only within own department, but to other support areas.
- Working closely and harmoniously with fellow workers.
- Adherence to all safety and health rules and regulations.
- Proper documentation on service repair orders.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- 6 months experience automotive / commercial equipment parts requisitioning preferred.
- Knowledge in warehouse operations and procedures.
- Working computer knowledge using database and MS Office Excel and Word.
- Possess a valid Nevada Driver's License.
- Possess an OSHA 10 card or have the ability to get one within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to comprehend, read, speak and write proficiently in the English language.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
- Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as needed.
- Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm, diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, dust odors, and elevated noise levels.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, cement structures and surfaces.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time; sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision.
