Job Summary

Under close supervision of an assigned mentor/preceptor, the SBHC Pre-Health Trainee will have the opportunity to observe clinical practices, assist mentors in low level patient care, and complete other non-clinical duties as assigned. Trainees will also assist clinic teams in scheduling patient appointment, including insurance verification and other related tasks as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Shadowing of mentor(s). (50%)
  • Non-clinical duties as assigned (this could include, scheduling and registering patients, stocking supplies, turning over exam rooms, administrative duties, rooming/escorting patients, working on special projects etc.) (50%)

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

    • Active Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
    • Communicating - Communicating effectively orally and in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience, express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
