| Position Purpose |
The Senior Director for Inclusion Learning & Institutional Impact leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Dartmouth's institutional learning and belonging strategy. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Inclusion and Strategic Engagement, this senior role drives the development of evidence-based training and curriculum, translates campus climate data into scalable programmatic interventions, and advances belonging initiatives for a large, diverse institutional audience across faculty, staff, and students. The Senior Director exercises independent judgment, leads cross-functional problem-solving, and serves as a recognized subject-matter expert in inclusion learning, organizational assessment, and institutional change. |

- Master's degree plus 8 or more years' progressively responsible experience, or PhD plus 6 or more years' experience, in higher education, organizational development, adult learning, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated senior-level experience leading the design, implementation, and rigorous assessment of inclusion and belonging initiatives at an institutional scale, in close partnership with senior faculty, staff, and administrative leaders
- Deep knowledge of higher education structures, governance systems, and the organizational dynamics that shape inclusion and belonging efforts at research universities
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information and apply structured problem-solving to nuanced institutional challenges
- Advanced proficiency in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data-including campus climate survey data-to diagnose trends, evaluate program impact, and drive evidence-based strategic planning and institutional change
- Demonstrated experience with data-informed decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive, confidential data and information
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with all levels of faculty and staff and collaborate with groups representing diverse constituencies
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills for independently leading faculty and staff teams and presenting to varied audiences
- Proficiency in written communication with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and meet deadlines while adapting to a rapidly changing organizational environment
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision and take initiative
- Strong integrity, flexibility, and ability to adapt
- Proficiency in assessment and data platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Tableau, SPSS, or comparable tools); ability to build and present data dashboards and reports for varied institutional stakeholders

- PhD in Higher Education, Social Work, Organizational Development, Sociology, or related field
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience leading institutional belonging, learning, or organizational development initiatives at a research university or comparable institution
- Experience with institutional climate assessment and data-driven program development

| Description |
Data, Assessment & Strategic Leadership
- Serves as a senior strategic partner to the AVP, providing expert counsel on inclusion learning strategy, institutional change, and best practices in belonging and organizational development; helps position Dartmouth as a leader among peer institutions.
- Leads the independent analysis and interpretation of campus climate survey data, disaggregating findings by population, identifying systemic patterns, and translating results into clearly prioritized, data-driven programmatic recommendations for institutional action.
- Designs evidence-based action plans in response to climate findings, establishing measurable goals, implementation timelines, and accountability structures; tracks outcomes across cycles to assess institutional progress.
- Leads problem-solving and intervention strategy development in response to emerging campus climate challenges, drawing on both quantitative and qualitative data; advises academic departments, administrative units, and senior leaders on context-specific approaches to address climate barriers and promote belonging.
- Monitors and benchmarks longitudinal climate trends across survey cycles, using comparative data to evaluate program effectiveness, identify persistent gaps, and drive continuous improvement in institutional strategy.
- Leads applied research and special initiatives examining the impact of inclusion interventions in higher education; synthesizes findings for internal use and pursues opportunities for publication and external contribution to the field.
- Partners with academic and administrative leaders, deans, and department chairs to align inclusion learning strategy across divisions; communicates climate findings in accessible, actionable formats tailored to varied institutional audiences.
- Produces annual reports, data briefs, and institutional communications that document progress, highlight impact, and sustain institutional accountability for belonging and inclusion outcomes.

| Description |
Training Design, Curriculum & Institutional Programming
- Leads training and curriculum development-from needs assessment and design through delivery, evaluation, and iteration-creating scalable, evidence-based learning experiences on inclusion and belonging for large and diverse institutional audiences across faculty, staff, and student populations.
- Directs and continuously improves signature learning initiatives, including Inclusion Champions; conducts systematic curriculum review using emerging research, climate survey data, and institutional feedback to ensure relevance, rigor, and consistency in messaging across all platforms and audiences.
- Conducts ongoing review and benchmarking of internal and external training programs used across the institution; builds and maintains a curated repository of evidence-based inclusion and belonging resources to support institutional learning at scale.
- Provides senior oversight of signature institutional programs, including the MLK Celebration, Social Justice Awards, Juneteenth Commemoration, and Community Reading Group; ensures these programs reflect institutional priorities, reach broad audiences, and contribute to a cohesive campus belonging strategy.
