Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Physician Specialist Per Diem in the Department of Medicine - Global Tuberculous Institute within the New Jersey Medical School (
NJMS).
The Physician Specialist functions as a specialist and consultant for Rutgers' Global Tuberculous Institute and has clinical responsibility for diagnostic and clinical sessions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Provides physician coverage at Rutgers' Lattimore Clinic or satellite clinics.
- Directs the activities of medical and other personnel engaged in the rendering of medical treatment to patients.
- Serves on faculty of NJMS Global TB Institute, Education and Training Department, conducts training sessions as required.
- Participates in research projects through patient medical management, patient interview and record review.
- Responsible for establishing appropriate relationships with those health, welfare and social agencies both public and private existing within the jurisdiction of the unit or agency program.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Completion of a medical internship or equivalent.
- Demonstrated competence in hospital practice.
- Ability to assume clinical and administrative responsibility for section of the medical and treatment services.
- Credentials Committee or equivalent recommendation; and approval by the Central Office Board on Professional Standards.
