DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be supporting children, youth, and families by assisting caseworkers and helping with daily activities, visits, transportation, and documentation. You will have the opportunity to play an important role in keeping services organized and ensuring children receive the care and guidance they need. As a County Social Services Aide 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Child Supervision: Monitor children during visits, appointments, court events, and approved activities
- Placement Support: Assist with admission, placement, and discharge steps for children in agency care
- Home Visit Assistance: Accompany caseworkers and report observations on child and family functioning
- Record Management: Maintain required medical, dental, vision, immunization, and related records
- Transportation Assistance: Transport youth to visits, appointments, school, work, and authorized activities
- Independent Living Support: Help youth with daily living tasks, life skills, and group activities
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Possible travel requiring overnight stays.
- Possible after-hour appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
