Job Overview:

The Lab Technician supports testing and validation of refrigeration and cooling systems within a controlled laboratory environment. This role partners closely with engineering to execute performance testing, troubleshoot systems, and ensure accurate and timely documentation to support new product development initiatives.

Responsibilities:


  • Set up and execute performance tests for prototype refrigeration and cooling equipment using various instrumentation

  • Monitor and adjust test parameters (e.g., temperature settings, refrigerant charge) to ensure accurate results

  • Document test procedures, changes, and results using Microsoft Office tools and internal systems

  • Prepare detailed test reports and summaries for engineering teams

  • Support the construction and modification of prototype equipment and test setups

  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment and refrigeration systems

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Technical Services teams to support product development and issue resolution

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lab environment while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.



Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 1+ years of experience in mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and basic shop equipment

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and technical aptitude

  • Attention to detail and documentation accuracy

  • Safety awareness and compliance

  • Team collaboration and communication

  • Time management and prioritization



Preferences:


  • Technical trade school training

  • 1+ years of HVAC or refrigeration experience

  • Experience in electro-mechanical manufacturing environments

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification

  • Knowledge of refrigeration cycles and components

  • Familiarity with pressurized gases, brazing, and mechanical assembly

  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot electrical systems

  • Experience operating a forklift or willingness to learn.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills



Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements


  • Fully onsite in West Chester, PA

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM or 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

  • Limited travel may be required
