SUMMARY The Line Operator is a key member of the manufacturing team responsible for executing their production or packaging line's key performance targets while ensuring, Quality, People and Food Safety requirements are being maintained. They seek to maximize efficiency and productivity while minimizing waste. They are responsible for coordinating, controlling and tracking material usage and for performing adjustments and troubleshooting of equipment and processes to maintain a consistent flow and pace to assembly and packaging line activities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 2 years food manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Familiar with Amy's products and processes SKILLS * Active listening skills * Builds and maintains relationships easily, working with diverse styles backgrounds. * Able to confront issues and conflict in a constructive and productive manner. * Able to train others to perform to standards. * Cooperates easily with peers and others. Can collaborate across organizational boundaries. * Able to identify problems, isolate causes and provide fact-based solutions. * Ability to review data for accuracy and recognize inconsistencies or errors of any kind and report or correct them as necessary. * Language Skills o Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and written procedures. Ability to write simple correspondence. o Spanish language is preferred; English must be developed so that company business can be communicated in English or Spanish on the production floor. o It is necessary to be able to clearly present information on a large range of forms and short reports. Mathematical Skills o Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. o Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Know how to interpret bar graphs. o Have a good understanding of production standards and efficiencies Reasoning Ability o Can apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. o Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. o Ability to take previous information and incorporate it into an understanding of a new topic. Able to see the similarities among essentially different objects or ideas and use existing knowledge about the first set of objects or ideas to understand the others. o To fully understand procedures so they are used as basis for decision making. o Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
