Job Description

Sealed Air is seeking a driven manufacturing professional to fulfill our current opening, Mechanical Engineer, located in Ayer, Massachusetts. The qualified candidate will be responsible for mechanical design project work from concept to manufacturing release. This position will be in a fast-paced environment offering daily support to our sales and manufacturing groups. The ability to handle multiple projects, work independently and interact with team leaders will be critical.

Responsibilities

  • Creative conception based on well-defined guidelines.
  • Project Management
  • Layout design.
  • Design evaluation.
  • Detailing creation of all assembly drawings.
  • Generate Bills of Material and other necessary supporting documentation.
  • Hands on manufacturing support
  • Follow-up design improvement.
  • Following engineering quality standards, methods, policies and procedures.
  • ECO/ECN Documentation.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering BS degree (from accredited college or university).
  • Minimum of 3 years mechanical design experience
  • Candidate must be highly proficient in Solidworks.
  • Capable of project level assignments with the ability to demonstrate achievements.
  • Industry equipment design experience required, with packaging machinery equipment design a plus.
  • Engineering knowledge of materials, thermal properties, kinematics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, sheet metal design, and general industrial equipment manufacturing processes are also required.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage a project workload while adhering to aggressive completion schedules.
  • Strong analytical and technical background, along with good oral and written skills is necessary.
  • Some travel (domestic and international) required.
  • Experience/knowledge of lean tools would be a plus.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $65,700-$113,045



The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs. Sealed Air offers a competitive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits designed to promote well-being.
