Position Highlights

Parking & Transportation Services is seeking a dedicated and service-minded Wildcat Ambassador to help deliver a world-class customer experience at the University of Arizona. This position ensures parking garage operations are safe, accessible, reliable, and efficient for the campus community and its visitors. The Wildcat Ambassador is responsible for resolving complex issues by applying critical thinking, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving strategies. They are expected to propose and implement solutions independently, subject to supervisory review.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

This position will work from 2:00pm to 12:00am, Saturday-Sunday.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Upholds the University of Arizona's Purpose, Mission, and Core Values by fostering a daily culture of service excellence and collaborative teamwork in support of both internal and external customers.
  • Serves as a representative of UA and Parking & Transportation Services by proactively assisting customers with inquiries and resolving parking-related issues.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all parking exit gates and pay station equipment, which involve complex systems integrating both parking and credit card components.
  • Uses sound judgment to avoid disruptions to garage operations during servicing.
  • Ensures the garage remains clean, free of debris, and visually presentable.
  • Analyzes complex occupancy reports throughout the shift to identify mixed tenant parking patterns and ensure appropriate allocation of parking spaces for permit holders and visitor turnover.
  • Requires strong analytical skills and sound judgment to assess customer parking behavior and adjust garage occupancy levels accordingly.
  • Responsible for conducting tamper inspections and maintaining audit documentation for all parking exit gates and pay station equipment, in compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and policies.
  • Provides support during emergency situations requiring immediate parking solutions.
  • Assists with coordination and management of Special Event parking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of parking and transportation operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures consistently and fairly.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and with external partners.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting/transporting up to 30 pounds on occasion.

Work Environment:

  • Outdoor Environment: Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a university or large institutional setting.
