Summary:


The Hershey Company, Hazleton Plant, in Hazle Township, PA is a Union plant manufacturing products such as Cadbury Caramello Bars, Cadbury Mini Eggs, Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bars, Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds Bars, Hershey's Special Dark Bars, Hershey'sCandy CoatedEggs, and Kit Kat, in a high-speed complex environment.



The qualifiedapplicant must be able to install, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, remove, balance, calibrate and adjust heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and units throughout the plant and office facilities as well as possess electricaland HVAC theory.


Pay:



  • Starting Pay Rate: $40.86/hour
  • 0.45 differential pay/hour for 2nd and 3rd shift (8 hour) and 0.60 differential pay/hour for 12-hour night shift
  • $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Shifts:



  • You must be flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
  • Work schedule assignments upon hire aredetermined by plant needs. You will be assigned to1st shift (6:50 PM - 3:00 PM) upon hire for training, then may be moved to a different shift upon qualification and seniority.You will be eligible to bid on other schedules, shifts and jobswhen posted.
  • Traditional Work Schedule (TWS):Regularschedule is 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. (1st shift: 6:50am-3:00pm, 2nd shift: 2:50pm-11:00pm and 3rd shift: 10:50pm-7:00am).Mandatory overtime couldbe weekly (scheduled for 12 hours/day, Monday through Friday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts)whichcould be assigned up to 30 minutes prior to the end of the shift.
  • Continuous Operations Schedule (COS):Rotation of 2-2-3 days on/off, with every other weekend off. You will be eligible for 1 mandated day in a 2-week period

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Interpret and understand blueprints, P&ID's, piping schematics, electrical schematics, engineering sketches, standards & specifications, gauges, meters, graphs, charts and reference tables.
  • Document accurate information of equipment repairs, troubleshooting steps, parts used and time spent in SAP work order system.
  • Check equipment located external to the plant, which requires walking, climbing, bending, etc. in all weather conditions.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must possess a High School diploma/GED
  • Must be flexible to work any shift
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must possess a minimum of threeyears' relevant experience in HVAC to include electrical, plumbing, sheet metal and industrial refrigeration
  • Must possess working knowledge of PLCcontrols,pneumatic controls, and building maintenance systems
  • Completion of Universal certification for refrigerant recovery and usage
  • Basic computer skills



Preferred Qualifications:



  • SAP experience
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology
  • Good attendance is very important



Physical Demands:



  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, squat, crawl, bend, climb steps/stairs/ladders/scaffolding, and move around machinery



Working Conditions:



  • Work will be performed inside and outside of a food manufacturing facility and onsite Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes/boots, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, hard hats,hair nets, hooded hair restraints, and gloves
  • Wearing company issued uniforms is a requirement
