DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman, you will be leading inmate work crews in a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks while also performing hands-on work in various trades. You will have the opportunity to play a key part in keeping the facility safe, clean, and in good working order. Responsibilities include:
- Crew Supervision: Direct inmate workers in completing construction, maintenance, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks
- Work Planning: Plan daily schedules, assign tasks, and inspect completed work for quality and safety
- Trade Assistance: Perform or assist with skilled work in trades such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, or welding
- Tool Management: Issue, track, and inventory materials and tools used for maintenance assignments
- Safety Oversight: Conduct searches of inmates and work areas to ensure tools and materials are accounted for
- Supply Coordination: Determine needed materials and submit purchase requests to support work assignments

- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
