| Position Purpose |
The
Director, Enterprise Business Systems provides leadership and direction to a team of software engineers responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of Dartmouth's Oracle E-Business Suite (
EBS) platform and the portfolio of third-party applications integrated within that environment. This role serves as the primary technical advisor for the Oracle
EBS ecosystem and will play a central planning and advisory role in the institution's transition to a next-generation Finance and HR system over the coming years.
The
Director partners closely with the Associate Vice President of Enterprise Systems Group and institutional stakeholders to ensure that business systems effectively support administrative operations, that vendor relationships are actively managed, and that the team is well-positioned to support both current operational needs and future transformation initiatives. |

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6 or more years of experience in a technologist or systems analyst role within complex organizations, with demonstrated focus on enterprise business systems or ERP platforms.
- Minimum 2-3 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience in an IT or systems environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with Oracle E-Business Suite or comparable ERP platforms, with knowledge of Finance, Human Resources, or Procurement functional areas.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Experience in business process analysis and review, with the ability to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
- Working knowledge of application integration techniques and third-party vendor management practices.
- Familiarity with change management principles and their application to technology-driven organizational transitions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in higher education IT or similarly complex, mission-driven institutional environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud, Workday, or other next-generation Finance and HR platforms, with interest in supporting an enterprise system transition.
- Experience supporting or leading an ERP implementation, upgrade, or major migration project.
- Knowledge of data integration tools, middleware platforms, or API management in an ERP context.
- Financial acumen in budgeting and resource planning within an IT department.

- Identifies opportunities to leverage Oracle EBS capabilities and integrated systems more effectively across institutional functions.

Project and Process Management -
- Leads business process review activities in partnership with Finance, Human Resources, and other administrative departments, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through technology.
- Coordinates project and annual planning with client departments, balancing business priorities, staffing requirements, cost factors, and delivery schedules.
- Develops technical cost and schedule estimates for proposed projects; ensures the timely and accurate delivery of approved project plans.
- Manages the planning, configuration, testing, and deployment of Oracle EBS upgrades, patches, and enhancements in coordination with technical and functional teams.
- Oversees the design and implementation of integrations between Oracle EBS and third-party applications, ensuring data integrity and system interoperability.

- Serves as the primary subject matter expert for Oracle EBS and the portfolio of third-party applications integrated within the business systems environment.
