AI Engineer (Agentic AI / Generative AI) Location: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite) Duration: Contract-to-hire (6-12 months) Level: Open to Junior, Mid-Level, and Senior Engineers About the Opportunity Join a forward-thinking organization investing heavily in AI, automation, and cloud-native technologies to transform complex business operations. This team is building a next-generation Agentic AI framework designed to automate sophisticated workflows and enhance decision-making at scale. You'll work on highly visible initiatives leveraging cutting-edge Generative AI and multi-agent systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver production-grade AI solutions. What You'll Do * Design, build, and support a scalable agentic AI framework * Develop and deploy intelligent agents with built-in guardrails, monitoring, and controls * Create multi-agent orchestration systems using modern LLM and GenAI technologies * Work within AWS environments (Bedrock, SageMaker, Agent frameworks) * Apply unsupervised machine learning techniques to improve agent reasoning and autonomy * Collaborate with engineering, data, and business teams to bring AI solutions into production What We're Looking For * 2+ years of experience in AI / ML (open to junior through Senior candidates) * Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, and agent-based architectures * Experience building or contributing to multi-agent systems or orchestration frameworks * Knowledge of unsupervised machine learning * Proficiency in Python * Experience with PyTorch * Experience working within AWS environments, including Bedrock, SageMaker, or similar AI services Nice to Have * Experience with AI governance, risk controls, or monitoring frameworks * Background* in regulated industries* (e.g., finance, healthcare, etc.) * Passion for building production-ready AI systems and driving innovation Why Apply? * Work on advanced Agentic AI systems at enterprise scale * Highly visible projects with meaningful business impact * Opportunity to convert to full-time * Collaborative and innovative engineering culture Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
