This position provides support for the Office of Human Resources with specific focus on processing and maintaining information within the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management system to ensure customer inquiries and issues are addressed. In this position you will analyze and research business or system issues, complete HRMS system testing, and consult on HRMS training.

Compensation: $67,500-$70,000 (depending on qualifications)
Location: Hybrid (remote and Twin Cities Campus)

This hybrid role requires on-site presence on the UMN Twin Cities campus, and preference will be given to applicants located either in the state of Minnesota or near the Wisconsin border or otherwise open to relocation.

Responsibilities:

HRMS Support (75%):

  • Partner with HR Business Process owners (Payroll, Human Resources, Benefits) to design less complex break/fix system enhancements, related to production support issues, according to requirements.
  • Use query tools as needed for research, troubleshooting, and reporting purposes including PeopleSoft Query and SQL.
  • Author and review less complex functional design documents, related to production support issues, which will be used to communicate business requirements to the technology development team.
  • Facilitate, support, and execute integration and system testing plans.
  • Document test results and/or defects using Quality Center or other HRMS documentation.
  • Update PeopleSoft data as needed to support business needs and address issues.
  • Assist in the development of systems specifications, design, and development from the end-user perspective.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, detect, identify, and correct problems and deficiencies.
  • Proactively develop relationships with internal business partners to accurately capture business requirements.
  • Understand, document, and streamline business processes across all HR functions.
  • Liaison with vendors and other IT areas to develop and test integration functionality to ensure it meets business specifications.
  • Serve as a positive change influencer within the call center team, within OHR, and across the University.
  • Consult on OHR processes, and assist with development of HRMS training, resources, and knowledge articles.
  • Handle escalated inquiries from Contact Center or HRMS support team members.
  • Provide information and assistance to HR end-users.
  • Execute cyclical processes.
  • Assist with new hire training and onboarding.
  • Conduct case trend analysis to inform additional training materials.
  • Support team in planning and executing work to meet department goals.

Call Center (25%):

  • Support the following areas of HR: unit-level HR Staff, Tier I Call Center, OHR business process owner, OHR policy owners, and Tier III HRMS staff.
  • Log all cases in case management tool as required, using a pre-defined coding scheme to ensure accuracy and reporting capabilities.
  • Meet all service level standards as set by management. These include standards related to timeliness, accuracy, and case quality measures.
  • Use knowledge base documentation to answer questions consistently and quickly.
  • Maintain Contact Center knowledge base and make updates as needed.
  • Determine when questions have policy or process implications and reach out to business process owners and/or policy owners to discuss potential need for process or policy updates. Coordinates solution with all users.
  • Resolve incidents by working with Tier III systems support, business process owners, and policy owners to ensure issues get closed per established SLA.
  • Escalate cases to Tier III HRMS, process owners, or policy owners, if the answer cannot be determined. Once the answer is determined through escalated cases to HRMS Business Analysts, document the resolution and train others on solutions as needed.
  • Recommend, gain buy-in through collaboration, and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Consult with customers to determine needs and resolve questions.
  • Participate on project teams as requested.
  • Liaison with end-user training function to recommend topics for training based on case and data trends.
  • Conducts case trend analysis and reporting.
  • Forward transaction requests for processing to payroll, Unit HR, or Workforce Data Management teams.
  • Recommend communications to the user community based on case and data trends.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree plus at least 2 years of experience, or a combination of education and/or experience to equal at least 6 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing customer service in a call center environment, and with demonstrated knowledge of human resource topics and/or previous work as a business analyst. Must have a commitment to providing a professional level of customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to determine appropriate times and methods for communications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people with a variety of backgrounds, including business representatives from across the University, technology resources from IT, and business process owners.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $67,500-$70,000 per year; depending on education/qualifications/experience
